Fresh large portions. Friendly staff. Get there early. It's small and popula. Its my current fave.
Amazing fresh fish! Loved the yellowtail, albacore sashimi and spicy tuna! Highly recommend
The first thing I wanna say is that the restroom was immaculate, as was the dining area. This hidden gem is nestled on Wilshire Blvd. between 16th and 17th streets. It is very well lit and sparsely decorated featuring a beautiful red, gold, and black kimono at the entrance. The meal was delicious and attractively presented. The wait staff was kind, friendly, and efficient. I absolutely endorse this restaurant. Five yummies.
Sushi King is the ONLY sushi restaurant for our family. Everything they have to offer is prepared with care from the sushi masters and delicious! Sea-bass Misoyaki, buttery hamachi, sweet shrimp with the heads fried crisp or in miso soup should not be missed. Make a reservation. Cozy, small and simple but the food is exquisite!!
Another super evening Great service and awesome food Aat at the bar and enjoyed the food and some company
Stopped in on a chilly Friday night around 7PM and was lucky to get two seats at the sushi bar as the restaurant was quite crowded. Overall we really enjoyed the experience, but it's slightly more expensive than it should be for what you get. Regardless, worth a visit. We opted for the omakase and the chef behind the counter told us he'd keep serving us until we told him to stop which was pretty cool. The nigiri comes with generous portions of fish and everything seemed fresh and well prepared. The seared salmon and toro were really good and the highlights of the meal. The shrimp tempura was delicious as well. The ambiance is very classic and a calm environment for a crowded restaurant. Service was friendly. Again, the only real nitpick was the prices could have been 10-15% cheaper for the overall experience and type of restaurant it is. Worth a visit for some solid sushi.
Really pleasant find! Really peaceful with just the right amount of crown on a Sunday night. All servers and sushi chefs were Japanese, everyone was very friendly and attentive. Sushi was pretty good. But the steam egg was the star of the show!! Street parking was easy on a Sunday night.
Excellent sushi. Delicious rolls. Exotic rolls taste good. The service is excellent. The staff are wonderful. The ambiance is nice. The seating is good,
Yes! The best sushi I've had since moving to the West Side. Authentic, fresh, and delicious. Everything that we had hit the spot. From The salmon skin salad, to the chirashi bowl, monk fruit liver, king combination, seaweed salad, fresh and water eel roll. We killed it all. Sushi King also doesn't mess around with its fish to the rice ratio. Solid pieces of fish are served here. That's what I like to see (and eat)! The servers and chefs were also so warm, inviting, and friendly. Immediately we felt welcomed by the smiling and engaging staff. And the service was so quick! Spot doesn't look like much on from the outside. Unassuming and easy to miss. But don't be fooled. This hole in the wall restaurant is a 5 star spot!
